ALAKSO is located in the Lebanese mountains over viewing Halat and the Mediterranean Sea. Our main concern is securing the best results for the environment by reducing harmful emissions and controlling the harmful air pollution produced from the aluminum fabrication plant. Thus, we covered the entire production site by an environmental protection program which has a beneficial impact on the air quality in the city.

To maintain the quality system and produce conforming products, we implemented an internal product and process qualifications system which testifies to very high quality standards. Furthermore, we have started collaborating with Quality Management System Consultants in order to qualify and become ISO 9001:2000 certified. ISO 9001 is a quality management standard. It applies to all types of organizations. It can help both product and service oriented organizations achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world.

The basic requirements of ISO 9001:2000 include:

• A set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business
• Monitoring processes to ensure they are effective
• Keeping adequate records
• Checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action where necessary
• Regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness
• Facilitating continual improvement
